Patsy Huber

My name is Patsy Huber. My job requires me to be on my feet most of the time, so when I was in a serious vehicle accident on June 6, 2003, my life changed forever.

I was asleep as a passenger in my boyfriend’s SUB, traveling westbound on State Route 260 outside of Overgaard, Navajo County, Arizona, when I was awakened to find the SUB careening off the highway and down a steep embankment. I was terrified. If it were not for the seatbelt, I would have gone straight through the windshield. When the SUV finally came to a stop, I could see a huge bone sticking straight up out of my left foot and there was blood on both feet. I had to be extricated from the vehicle, then I was transported first to Navapache Regional Medical Center in Show Low, then via air to Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, and finally, via air to the trauma unit at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital.

I was left with the following injuries:

1. Left pilon fracture of the left ankle with dislocation that required three surgeries and a permanent limitation of range of motion of the ankle, which causes an unnatural walking motion along with continuing pain and discomfort.
2. Cervical spine fractures at C2 and C4 levels (requiring full-body brace and then neck brace for approximately nine weeks).

I retained Christ Jensen of the JENSEN LAW FIRM, to represent me as to my claims. He was very successful in obtaining the following for me:

1. Adverse recovery against the driver of the SUV in the amount of $75,000.00;
2. Coverage-limits recovery in the amount of $250,000.00 for (Underinsured Motorists) UIM as to the driver of the SUV;
3. Insurance coverage limits of $30,000.00 from the driver of the other vehicle; and
4. The “out-of-his-pocket” additional contribution of $55,000.00 from the other driver, following mediation.

for a total recovery of $410,000.00

In addition, JENSEN LAW FIRM did a tremendous job for me in negotiating to get my medical expenses (that exceeded my insurance coverage by $81,000) to be reduced as to lien claims and account payoffs by almost $40,000.00, a savings of about 50 percent.
